I love my Saturday mornings, over the years it has been my weekly chill out and when I specifically just reflect on the week that was in business.
Sometimes I am up at 5.00am to watch the sunrise, other times I out sleep the teenagers as I press save on a document at 3.00 am in the morning. No matter what, I find time to reflect on the week that was.
Giving and Receiving:
Not trying to go new age on you, but some say it’s a law of the universe. What ever your perspective on it, this principle is what makes Finance & Coffee one of the best groups on Facebook for finance professionals.
For anything to be abundant one must have something to give and another willing to receive.
I remember my days as a new broker, no mentors, no groups, all I could do is seek out the high performers in the industry, and just, if I was lucky could receive 5 mins of their time. I am thankful for those that gave their time, they have made me what I am today.
Many times it’s nothing too profound, sometimes a throw a way line. I remember Mick Congyham was at one our first mentoring workshops in 2014, as a throw away strategy “post some letters to houses for sale” one of my brokers went all out and spent $17 from that a $500,000 + construction loan and subsequent referrals.
So, let’s look what’s on offer in the coffee house, there are hundreds of ideas, lots of brokers sharing what has worked for them. A perfect example is this week Kirsty Dunphey reached out, and the info in her post is more than you could ever expect from any paid professional, and it cost you nothing.

I have been blessed by this industry, it meets my needs having received in abundance over the years. In turn by giving back has done even more amazing things for me, new friendships, new opportunities and a new perspective on the industry.
