Enough with all the negativity

I read a lot of posts here on F/c and like most of you there is always something you can learn, there is always something that annoys us like repeated questions and there are posts and comments that are outright negative.

So, do we put a stop to all negativity?

My answer is no. It is not because I am a pessimist myself, quite the optimist. I try to look for the good any situation, I look for how things can be better but most of all I look at WHY something has gone wrong.

In this industry, well could say in “Life” there is always good and bad, yin and yang or whatever attribute you wish to apply to this logic. Here at F/c we have been approached at times to take down comments that are negative towards ‘Something’ but unless it seriously breaks the rules and the comment or post is justified we leave it up.

Next, I am pleased to say we are not delusional, that meaning if we think we can turn f/c into an ultra-positive go happy utopian community it will unlikely happen. Granted there are actually are a few brokers who perhaps are at this level of consciousness, “Can we have what you’re having Please”. As for the rest of us, let’s look at how we manage negativity.

Things go wrong, for some more than others. Its ok to have a gripe, even a rant and we NEED THIS, so, by all means, do not stop. Next is the WHY, why have things gone wrong. Usually, it is the result of an Aggregator, Association or Lenders behaving badly, like I have mentioned a few times now;

“Finance and Coffee is a barometer for our industry”

So when a selection of brokers voice that a lenders services levels are off the charts DO NOT COME TO US and ask for those posts and comments to be removed, lenders, please DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. If I were CEO, I’d tell you I’d be on it right away, (we would also have 2% interest rates too .. Hahaha).

That aside this is a great opportunity do something about it. An example a year or so back was CBA, services levels sucked, the State Manager got up on PD Days and owned it, and also told us they were doing something about it, and they did. Other things CBA aside, they have my respect for accepting responsibility on that point and there are other lenders too.

Out of adversity, comes triumph. As an admin moderator for this group, almost 2 years now I have seen many
