Gateway Bank launches $2,000 Green Home Loan cashback

A $2,000 cashback offer linked to a Green Home Loan is launched today by Gateway Bank. 

The growing number of environmentally-conscious Aussie borrowers now have an option to save money while doing the right thing for the planet. 

Gateway Bank CEO Lexi Airey said, ‘Because we strongly believe that consumers shouldn’t have to pay a premium to do the right thing for the environment, we’ve introduced this cashback offer as part of Gateway Bank’s ‘Pocket & Planet’ purpose.”

 

“Our range of Green Home Loans with cashback is available to new customers who are looking to either:

• refinance their mortgage on a home with existing environmental features
• upgrade their home to reduce their impact on the planet
• build an energy efficient new home. “

 

As well as the cashback offer, eligible Green Home Loan customers will be able to take advantage of a discounted variable rate, and features such as a 100% Offset Account in Gateway’s Premium Package Home Loan.

 

The cashback on Gateway’s Green Home Loans is available on applications from 20th September to 31st December, with funding to be completed by 31 March 2022.

To qualify for a discounted interest rate, the borrower’s property must have a number of environmental enhancements, or have a 7 Star Energy Efficiency rating from NatHERS (Nationwide Housing Energy Rating Scheme).  Or it can qualify under the NatHERS-endorsed Residential Efficiency Scorecard.

 

Gateway’s Green Home Loan cashback offer adds to its suite of products with an environmental focus, including a plant-based Eco Debit Card launched earlier this year.  This is part of the mutual bank’s quest to continue developing ways to benefit their customers’ pockets and the planet.
