So, for some of you who don’t know me, my name is Daniela Greening and I have been a Broker since 2013.
What’s my story before that….I am the grandchild of immigrant’s from Europe. They came here seeking opportunity, challenges and new beginnings. This is the re-occurring theme for all my life #humansoffinance!
My parents were both born and educated in Australia. I had a pretty straight forward childhood growing up in suburban Melbourne, finishing VCE with a view to doing Law. Well, when the marks came out I didn’t get in; I had to find a different path and went to Uni, studied Arts/Legal Studies and became a Para-Legal working for Conveyancing firm. From here I had a couple of career re-incarnations; but by 1999 I had had enough and picked-up with my sister and did the big European Back-Pack adventure. Returning late in 2000, with renewed confidence and new skills acquired working in a winery in Italy.
I took these skills and followed up by working the next 13 years Selling, Marketing and Judging wine as a Career. Yep, you read right, I got paid to drink wine! Pretty bloody exciting and some of the most amazing experiences of my working career. After the birth of first child, I went back to work but quickly realised that a demanding career in the wine industry was not going to allow me the flexibility required to balance family and work. I needed to find new beginning. Right at this point in time I found out I was also pregnant for the second time with twins! Three children under two was going to make life very challenging. I had always had an interest in property and investing; becoming a real estate agent was of no interest to me and Finance and Mortgage Broking seemed like a natural fit.
I completed my studies while on maternity leave with 3 children at home. It was hard, long and tiring. Staying up to 11pm to finalise assignments, while trying to stay awake during the day on minimal sleep. The juggle was real!
Fast forward to 2017, my oldest is at school and the twins have started pre-prep. I am now more than ever enjoying my career and the fulfilment that comes with assisting people to achieve their financial dreams.
